ONLY Mixed C in the Ernst & Young Summer League has seen a change
of leader after eight weeks of games.
‘With just four weeks left, the competition will begin to take a different direction as the men’s and ladies’ leagues are heading towards play-offs and then in the last two weeks, all five leagues will have semi-finals and finals night and that always throws up some unexpected results,’ said Guernsey Touch chair Katrina Bray.
Source Sorcerers continue to lead Mixed A on touchdown difference after a 4 – 2 win over Mercator with Breda Barbarians on the same points but just two touchdowns behind after their game against Partners Group ended in a 6 – 3 win. Mercator is in third on seven points with Brotown two points behind on five points. Partners Group and Specsavers Sharks both have three points but Partners are just ahead in fifth place with a touchdown difference of minus eight.
Argyll Investments continue to benefit from having Blair Campbell on the team and he scored two touchdowns in their 7 – 2 win over Martel-Dunn Recruits. They are the only team in Mixed B to have won all three of their games in the second half of the season and remain in top spot. PwC has now moved ahead of the remaining four teams after their close game against Carey Crusaders ended 4 – 3. PwC has seven points and Careys are in third on five points. Martel-Dunn Recruits also have five points and are in fourth. Panthers are in fifth despite losing 5 – 7 to Lloyds who are in sixth.
Having been top of Mixed C last week, Specsavers Scorpions have dropped to third after losing to Ogier. Cool As Day has capitalised on that and lead Mixed C as the only team to have won all three of their games after their 7 – 0 win over Touch & Go. Ogier is in second with seven points but is just ahead of Specsavers Scorpions on touchdown difference. Touch & Go is in fourth, newcomers Scotland is in fifth after enjoying a 4 – 3 win over Panthers Bee who are in sixth.
Breda Barbarians continue to lead the Men’s table having won all eight of their games and now have a touchdown difference of 53 after an 8 – 1 win over Resolution IT. There are now just two teams in contention for second place after RG Falla’s Green Armee beat Specsavers Stags 5 – 1. They’re in second place on 22 points with a touchdown difference of 41. One touchdown behind them are Source Temps’ Tigers who beat Deloitte 7 – 0. Specsavers Stags are in fourth on 20 points and Resolution IT is in fifth with 16 points having won four and lost four. PwC had a 4 – 1 win over Chameleon which puts them in sixth place with 14 points and Cornerstone Exiles’ 6 – 3 win over Martel-Dunn Recruits puts them in seventh. Deloitte are in eighth with 11 points, Martel-Dunn Recruits are in ninth with 10 points and Chameleon are in 10th with seven points.
There’s no change at the top of the ladies’ division with GPG Women’s
Touch and Guernsey Post’s Fe-mails both on 22 points having each won
seven of their eight fixtures. GPG Women’s Touch 10 – 1 win over Martel-Dunn
Recruits has boosted their touchdown difference and they take top spot

Recruits are just behind in fourth on touchdown difference. Guernsey
Ladies Rugby team is in fifth on 12 points.
